EXPOSING HELL’S AGENDA

NOW THAT WE HAVE DEALT WITH BOTH THE MIND AND the flesh, it’s time to dive into the spirit. I wanted to tackle this last, not because it ranks last, but because there are some things that need to be dealt with first if we’re going to effectively utilize our weapons in the spirit realm.

Before we can successfully dismantle anything in the spirit, it’s vitally important that we get our minds and our flesh under control; because if not, we are bound to lose every battle in the spirit. Our opponent is no dummy. When we have not dealt with strongholds in our minds and flesh, he has all that he needs to keep us tangled and tied up—and defeated when it comes to anything in the spirit.

If you made it this far, I do not doubt how serious you are about winning in warfare! With the tools given so far and the ones you’re about to receive, well, let’s just say hell is angry!

The spirit realm is the battleground where heaven and hell are at war around the clock for the souls of every human being. Angels and demons are at work at all times; and unlike natural wars, they don’t get tired or give up in the middle of a battle. They have been employed and given a job with fully defined roles, both to lead you to the masters they serve. Angels, of course, are assigned to provide assistance to you in an effort to usher you to the Father in heaven; while demons are sent to ensnare you and usher you to the grips of Satan and ultimately his fiery abode, hell.

One of the main and major spiritual battles we will discuss in great detail is the spirit of fear. Others include the spirits of divination, witchcraft-Jezebel, sorcery, and more. We must know how these spirits gain access to us and what we can do to be delivered from them. Second Corinthians 10:2-4 says:

I beg you that when I come I may not have to be as bold as I expect to be toward some people who think that we live by the standards of this world. For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

Not only does this Scripture passage let us know that we have been given the weapons we need to wage a good warfare, but also that one of the purposes of our weapons is to demolish strongholds. This opens our eyes to the reality that strongholds are weapons, instruments designed by hell to destroy us—but God’s plan is to demolish them, through us!

Before we go any further, I want to first define strongholds and legal rights as understanding these are a prerequisite for successfully engaging in spiritual warfare.
